Firewall to the rescue

Have your computer been attacked by numerous worms and viruses that are generally made by hackers? Most people thought of sticking a note on their mind concerning this network crime. Worms assault every random innocent system and steal confidential information.

However, there are varieties of software that are capable of shooing these worms from your patio. This features anti-spyware to prevent your computer from installing malware which may perhaps steal information. Another is the anti-spam that keeps junk mail out of your e-mail inbox. There is an anti-virus program that basically detects and dispatches lost worm, Trojan horse and virus. May I proudly present you the firewall, can be a recognized as software or hardware device as well, which has the ability to deny ongoing transmissions from an illicit network and allow access to authorized and trusted communications.

A firewall is a system that inflicts an access control between two or more networks. It can be considered of as a pair of method: one which subsists to deny traffic, and the other which exists to authorize traffic.

How a firewall works? Below is a simple illustration that shows the ability of a firewall.

The user, from Home Computer, has requested to enter a web page. The request will go through the firewall for inspection and executes the web page's URL. The request will now be delivered after the second inspection. The firewall allows the request because it was basically entered by the home computer user. On the other hand, an unauthorized user sends you a web file transfer. Bu unfortunately, the firewall dispatches this communication between the home computer user and hacker. As a result, the firewall will deny the access transmission from the unknown network that is actually trying to detect your network system information.

This event still depends on your firewall configuration. The computer requires you to enable firewall to spread security into your system and even a network group.

In addition, there are two types of firewalls. One is the network fire wall and the other is a host-based firewall

A network firewall guards internal network against unauthorized access and may be hardware deices, software programs, or a combination of the two.

A host-based firewall protects an individual computer regardless of the network it’s connected to against attacking.

There are countless network that may possibly enter your unsecured network. There are still some unknown black hat hackers that do unethical doings such as spreading worms as a tool to steal information from authorize network. That is the reason why today's companies use advanced firewall to protect their system against unauthorized network trying to access their area. Firewall is a vast security tool a company must have. Like a wall, it works like a tough barrier against a spreading fire (unknown network).

Crimes have been spreading all around the world even inside the dimension of network. This firewall, similar to a police, also serves as digital reinforcements that secure must-secured network's information and to ensure good security among those company who needs safe networking and communication.
